I had a massive rotator cuff tear with complete separation of three of the four tendons plus a bicep dislocation. Dr. Downing performed a 3+ hour surgery to re-attach the ligaments and perform a bicep tenodesis. I'm now at one year following surgery, and by following all the prescribe rehab protocol, my shoulder and arm have full mobility in all directions and I'm using it as if I had never had the accident. He is an excellent body engineer, able to put all the parts and pieces back where they belong. I can't thank him enough for what he's accomplished with my shoulder. And, by the way, I'm very healthy 79 years old, looking forward to many more years with a 'good' arm thanks to Dr. Downing ;-)

After suffering of a broken arm for 4 months from a fall in August 2019 that occurred at my work - which forced me to utilize doctors within the Worker Compensation network, I ended up being misdiagnosed by an incompetent doctor on my condition and what my treatment plan should be. I eventually was referred to Dr. Kristopher Downing. He immediately knew that my initial treatment of my broken arm was not proper and I was in desperate need of surgery. It took another 6 months of suffering working through the bureaucracy of Workers Compensation to get approval to switch to Dr. Downing. Finally, I had my surgery a month ago. The surgery was intense and it took 5.5 hours where 15 screws were inserted, a bone graph performed and implantation of a long metal rod. I am forever grateful for my Hero Dr. Downing’s expertise, his caring demeaner and indeed his God given surgical skills that has helped me recover without much pain. I must give a shout out to the others who assisted him.

I really appreciate that Dr. Downing takes the time to make a connection and goes into, just enough, detail so that I can understand what's going to happen. I won't hesitate to have Dr. Downing take care of any further upper extremity issues I might have.

Dr. Andry was my second opinion for my right shoulder after a disappointing experience with a previous surgeon. From the start, he was compassionate, knowledgeable, and took the time to walk me through every detail, answering all of my questions thoroughly. I’m now 1.5 months post-op and the difference compared to my first surgery is like night and day. The office staff—especially Ayesha—were incredibly helpful, and the surgical and recovery team was top-notch. I can’t recommend Dr. Andry enough to anyone dealing with shoulder issues. 100/10! He helped get rid of the nagging pain I had experienced for 10 weeks, I couldn’t believe it. I’m grateful for that. Extremely grateful that I found Dr. Palia! He is not your average surgeon. He has high expectations. He is critical of others in the care pipeline. He repaired a complete tear of my patellar tendon and rotator cuff/labrum tear. He did such a good job I swear my "bad" knee is stronger than the good one. My rotator cuff tear was in a rare place. He said he might not be able to repair it with conventional methods. When I came out of surgery he said it was a good repair. He was correct!!

Forever Grateful to Dr. Chris Pallia.
I will forever be thankful for Dr. Pallia. After suffering a work injury and enduring a long, difficult workers' compensation claim that lasted over two years (2024)I was referred to him by my attorney Mr. Manuel J. Rodriguez, who highly recommended him as one of the top doctors in the field.
From the very beginning, Dr. Pallia showed compassion and a true understanding of the pain I was going through—not just physically, but emotionally and financially. At that point, I had lost my health, financial stability, and, honestly, my hope. I had been told I was permanently impaired without ever receiving the proper treatment for my injury. But Dr. Pallia listened—something that’s sadly rare in healthcare. He never rushed me, always treated me with kindness, and worked alongside me to create a path toward healing, even when the insurance denied treatment again and again.
He empowered me with information, gave me exercises to do at home, and never gave up on my recovery. Thanks to his support and expertise, my condition improved significantly—from a prognosis of permanent impairment to only a 1% residual impact at my final medical evaluation.
More than just treating my injury, he pointed out other important health issues I needed to address. I felt truly supported—seen not just as a patient, but as a whole person. Dr. Pallia made a profound impact on my life and on the lives of those around me.
Because of him, I’ve been able to reclaim my life and fulfill my purpose. I’ve gone back to school to become a nurse, inspired by the care and compassion he showed me. I truly wish more people could have the support of Dr. Pallia during one the most challenging times in their lives—it makes all the difference in the world.
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for helping me heal, for inspiring me, and for showing me what kindness in medicine truly looks like. My gratitude is immense.Google

A recent finger injury led me to Dr Peterson. Originally I was scheduled to have surgery at his surgery center at the California Orthopaedic Institute. The morning of my surgery I was tested for Covid, and very surprising to me I tested positive (absolutely no symptoms). Dr Peterson's assistant informed me I could not have the surgery because their operating room was not equipped for a Covid patient but to wait in my car as Dr Peterson was calling around to various San Diego hospitals to find an operating room for me. I was later scheduled for my procedure at Scripps Mercy Hospital and Dr Peterson was there waiting for me. I am so thankful that he went out of his way to find a place to accommodate my special needs and for his explanation of what the surgery would entail. I am grateful to Dr Peterson for his caring attitude and his skill operating on my finger! Thank you.

Dr. Tradonsky did the repair of my massive rotator-cuff tear. Some don't care for the seriousness of surgeons but I appreciate it. All business no small talk. Perfect. Most impressive was Dr Tradonsky's decision during surgery to repair rather than 'reconstruct' my shoulder with outside materials. I had carried the full tear through the pandemic so the prognosis for repair wasn't good. But he made that decision and I'm extremely grateful for it as I have my actual tendons securely back in place. I've worked super hard in therapy to validate his decision. Thank you so much sir.
